The TGDP consults with the exhibition “A lasting peace: The Meusebach-Comanche Treaty” at the Capitol Visitors Center in Downtown Austin. The exhibition shows how German settlers came to sign a peace treaty with the Comanche Indians in 1846. See here: [PDF]
The TGDP hosts its first volunteer training session at the UT Austin campus. Volunteers from Austin, San Marcos, and San Angelo attended an afternoon training session with Hans Boas to learn how to conduct interviews with Texas German speakers.
