Thomas Schmidt is a linguist specialising in audiovisual corpora. He is the main developer of the EXMARaLDA annotation tools (https://exmaralda.org), the author of the Kicktionary, a multilingual dictionary of soccer language (http://www.kicktionary.de), and the main developer of the ZuMult corpus platform (https://zumult.org). He has been working with the Texas German project since 2013, initially as a consultant in his role as the head of the Archive for Spoken German (https://agd.ids-mannheim.de). Since 2023 he has been supporting the TGDP in further development of its data through linguisticbits.de.
