Sandy grew up in a bilingual household – her mother is German and her father is American, but also fluent in German. Growing up, she spent most summers in Germany visiting her grandparents, and occasionally attending Gymnasium with friends. She has worked as a program assistant at Aspen Institute Germany, a program assistant at Körber Foundation, and is currently a public sector consultant Cassini Consulting.
