Active with the TGDP: Around 2012
PhD in Health Data Science (Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin), AuD (Doctor of Audiology) (Towson University), MA in Germanic Studies (Arizona State University), BA in Germanic Studies (Arizona State University)
Jane was first introduced to code-switching as a mechanism of language contact at Arizona State University. During her time with the Germanic Studies Department at UT Austin, she was interested in exploring how the grammars of bilinguals interact and in what way this interaction may be accommodated within, and simultaneously inform theoretical frameworks. She sees the Texas German Dialect Project as a unique opportunity to study various contact phenomena, including language attrition, bilingualism, and code-switching. Jane hopes that efforts from this project will shed light on language maintenance strategies and dispel negative attitudes towards minority languages.
Jane has been working in the field of Audiology since 2015. As of 2020, she is a Clinical Research Operations Manager at Mimi Hearing Technologies in Berlin, Germany.
