Andreas Floyd was born in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up in Erlangen, Germany. Fascinated by German American identity and the nuances of language, he earned his B.A. in English Studies and History and his M.A. in Cultural Anthropology and European Ethnology from the University of Münster, Germany. His research focuses on material culture and the ways objects and artifacts reflect cultural identity and memory. An experienced bilingual tutor, he decided to return to the United States to continue working at the intersection of language, education, and cultural heritage, and looks forward to contributing to the TGDP’s mission.
